What Our Parser Read Back From Our Own Export
Any builder can print the words ATS-friendly on a template gallery. The file it hands you is the only thing that settles it.
So I ran a two-job analyst resume through our own DOCX export and put the file it produced through the text extraction behind our free checker.
Then I changed one thing and exported again: the section names. Summary became Snapshot, Work Experience became My Journey, Education became Where I Learned, Skills became Toolbox, and every other word stayed identical.

Every word came through, in the right order, with the contact line intact. The parser still reported no work history, no education, and no skills.
That is the whole failure. Software matching a job's requirements looks for your experience in an experience field, and My Journey is not one, so a resume that reads perfectly to you returns empty.
Worth conceding, since it is our own product: the builder does not stop you renaming a section. The defaults are the safeguard, and this is what overriding them costs.
What this run does not prove
It was our parser, not theirs. Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Taleo, and iCIMS each read a file their own way, so a clean read here is evidence rather than a promise about any of them.
I scored our own export with our own checker, which is worth saying out loud. The 100 means the file cleared the six checks in the free instant check, not the 30+ checks in a full report.
The file was a DOCX. Nothing in this run speaks to the PDF export.
One wrinkle against us: the phone came back as “415) 555-0172”, opening bracket clipped by our own contact pattern. All ten digits survived, and nothing else lost a character.
